Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court--but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms--and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future--and the future of a world cleaved in two.

My Review:

All I really need to say is that I tried to savor this book but found myself unable to put it down. This was the second book that followed A Court of Thorns and Roses, and it was better than I could have ever imagined. Sarah J Maas made a huge leap in the magnitude and brilliance from the first book in the series to this one. I was absolutely blown away by the amazing writing and world-building and overall character development. The story is, quite basically, about Feyre trying to discover who she is and the new powers that she has acquired, and the way that Maas incorporates the general feeling of confusion over who she is and the dangers she faces is amazing. I was completely taken back by the beauty of Maas's writing, as she had an outstanding ability to pull you in and allow you to see the world she describes, and she really used that to her advantage in this story. The complexity of the characters and their feelings really show through in this novel and I love the way that Maas sprinkled little bits of information for the reader to find throughout the novel before the big reveal at the end. This is a must-read for fantasy lovers and those looking for a little bit of adventure.

Final Grade: A++++++++++++++++++++
